Glyceryl dibehenate is a diglyceride ester derived from behenic acid and glycerol, commercially available under trade names including Compritol 888 and Dibehenin. It is also referred to as didocosanoin or RARECHEM AL BI 0241 and carries no assigned E-code for food applications in the EU.

In pharmaceutical tablet manufacturing, glyceryl dibehenate functions as a lipid-based matrix former and lubricant, controlling drug release rates by forming a hydrophobic barrier around active ingredients. In cosmetic formulations, it acts as a rheology modifier and plasticizer, adjusting the texture and spreadability of sticks, balms, and creams through its semi-solid lipid structure.

Glyceryl dibehenate is available in pharmaceutical and cosmetic grades, with the pharmaceutical form typically compliant with Ph.Eur. monograph standards. It is subject to REACH registration requirements for EU supply and is commonly supplied in 25 kg bags or fibre drums as a solid material.
