Description

Fentin hydroxide (CAS 76-87-9) is an organotin compound also known as TPTH, TPTOH, and commercially as Du-Ter, Suzu-H, and Super-Tin. It carries no E-code designation and is classified under organometallic compounds with the molecular formula C18H16OSn.

In agricultural applications, fentin hydroxide functions as a protective and eradicant fungicide, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity to control late blight on potatoes and leaf spot diseases on sugar beet and peanuts. It also serves as a molluscicide in rice paddies, targeting snail populations that damage crops at the root level.

Fentin hydroxide is supplied as a technical-grade powder and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the EU. Procurement teams should note its classification as a substance of very high concern (SVHC) under REACH, which imposes strict documentation and supply chain communication obligations. HS code 29319090 applies for import and export purposes.
