Description

Glyceryl propoxy triacrylate (CAS 52408-84-1) is a propoxylated trifunctional acrylate monomer, commercially available under trade names including OTA 480, SR 9020, PO3-GTA, PO3-GPTA, and Ebecryl 53. It carries no assigned E-code. The propoxylation of the glycerol backbone distinguishes it from standard triacrylates by reducing viscosity and improving flexibility.

In UV- and EB-curable coatings, it functions as a reactive diluent and cross-linker, building a three-dimensional polymer network upon radical polymerisation to deliver hardness and chemical resistance. It is also used in radiation-curable adhesives and printing inks, where its trifunctionality accelerates cure speed while the propylene oxide spacers reduce shrinkage stress at the substrate interface.

Glyceryl propoxy triacrylate is supplied as a liquid and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the European Economic Area. Procurement teams should confirm supplier SDS documentation and purity specifications prior to formulation. Packaging formats vary by supplier; drum and IBC quantities are standard for industrial volumes.
