Description

Hydrazine hydrate (CAS 7803-57-8), also known as hydrazine monohydrate or hydrazinium hydroxide, is an inorganic nitrogen compound supplied as an aqueous solution. It is commercially available at concentrations typically ranging from 24% to 100% and is registered under REACH for industrial use across the European market.

In boiler water treatment, hydrazine hydrate scavenges dissolved oxygen by reacting directly with O2 to form water and nitrogen, preventing corrosion in high-pressure steam systems. In pharmaceutical manufacturing, it serves as a key building block for synthesising hydrazide intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients, including antituberculosis compounds.

Hydrazine hydrate is supplied in technical and high-purity grades compliant with REACH registration requirements. Standard packaging includes IBC containers and drums, with concentration options of 35%, 55%, 64%, and 80% aqueous solution. Handling requires compliance with ADR transport regulations due to its classification as a toxic and flammable substance.
