Description

Isopropyl stearate (CAS 112-10-7) is a fatty acid ester produced by reacting stearic acid with isopropyl alcohol. It is sold under trade names including Tegosoft S, Radia 7195, Kessco IPS, Wickenol 127, and Emerest 2310. It carries no assigned E-code and is not classified as a food additive.

In personal care formulations, isopropyl stearate functions as an emollient and carrier, spreading active ingredients across skin while reducing greasy feel. In metalworking and textile processing, it acts as a lubricant and softener, reducing friction between fibers or metal surfaces and improving workability without leaving heavy residues.

Isopropyl stearate is available in cosmetic and industrial grades and is subject to REACH registration requirements for EU supply. It is handled and shipped as a liquid, typically in drums or intermediate bulk containers. Buyers should confirm grade specification against intended application, particularly for personal care use.
