Description

L-Arginine (CAS 74-79-3, abbreviated ARG or L-Arg) is a naturally occurring amino acid produced via fermentation or protein hydrolysis. It carries no E-code designation. It is commercially available under various trade names and is recognised across food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical supply chains by its standard abbreviations ARG and L-Arg.

In personal care formulations, L-Arginine acts as a hair conditioner by penetrating the cortex to reinforce disulfide bonds, and functions as a pH buffer in skin-care systems, neutralising acidic actives without introducing sodium ions. In food and nutraceutical applications, it serves as a direct dietary amino acid supplement and a humectant that retains moisture in functional food matrices.

L-Arginine is sourced in food-grade (FCC), pharmaceutical-grade (Ph.Eur., USP), and cosmetic-grade specifications. It is fully REACH-registered and compliant with EU cosmetic regulations. Standard packaging includes 25 kg fibre drums and bulk quantities, with documentation available for GMP-regulated supply chains.
