Lemon oil

Lemon oil (CAS 84929-31-7, EC 284-515-8) is a cold-pressed or steam-distilled essential oil derived from the peel of Citrus limon. It is commercially identified under FEMA 2853, FEMA 2625, and FEMA 2626, and listed in trade documentation as Lemon, ext. or OIL, LEMON.

In food and beverage manufacturing, lemon oil delivers citrus flavour and functions as a natural antioxidant, slowing lipid oxidation in fat-containing formulations. Personal care formulators use it as a fragrance component and carrier solvent in rinse-off products, while pharmaceutical manufacturers incorporate it as a masking agent and excipient solvent in oral preparations.
