Description

Methylparaben Sodium (CAS 5026-62-0) is the sodium salt form of methylparaben, registered as E219 under EU food additive legislation. It is commercially available under trade names including Solparol, Preserval MS, Bonomold OMNa, and Nipagin Sodium.

In pharmaceutical and personal care formulations, E219 functions by disrupting microbial cell membrane integrity, inhibiting the growth of bacteria, yeasts, and moulds at concentrations typically between 0.02% and 0.3%. In food applications, it extends shelf life in products such as sauces and bakery goods where water activity alone provides insufficient protection.

Methylparaben Sodium is supplied as a white powder conforming to Ph.Eur., FCC, and REACH registration requirements, making it suitable for pharmaceutical, food-grade, and cosmetic applications within the EU and export markets. Standard packaging formats include 25 kg bags, with documentation available to support regulatory submissions.
