Description

Monosodium gluconate (CAS 527-07-1) is the sodium salt of gluconic acid, commercially available under trade names including Glonsen and Pasexon 100T. It carries no E-code designation and is commonly abbreviated as sodium gluconate in technical and procurement documentation.

In water treatment and industrial cleaning, sodium gluconate sequesters calcium, magnesium, and iron ions by forming stable chelate complexes, preventing scale formation and improving detergent performance even in alkaline conditions. In personal care formulations, it functions as a pH buffer and skin conditioner, stabilising product pH while supporting the skin barrier.

Sodium gluconate is supplied as a crystalline powder in food-grade and technical grades, with food-grade material conforming to FCC and EU food additive regulations. It falls under REACH registration requirements for EU supply. Typical packaging includes 25 kg bags, with bulk options available depending on grade and supplier.
