N-[3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl]diethylenetriamine (CAS 35141-30-1) is an aminosilane coupling agent sold under trade names including Silquest A-1130, Dynasylan TRIAMO, and Y-5162. It carries three reactive amine groups alongside a trimethoxysilyl anchor, giving it a bifunctional structure that bridges organic polymers and inorganic substrates.
In epoxy adhesive and coating formulations, the amine groups react directly with epoxide rings to accelerate cure and build adhesion at mineral surfaces such as glass, silica, and metal oxides. In fiber-reinforced composites and filled sealants, the silyl end hydrolyzes and bonds covalently to the filler surface, improving wet adhesion retention and mechanical performance under humid conditions.
