N-Isopropylhydroxyamine

N-Isopropylhydroxylamine (CAS 5080-22-8), also known as IPHA or by the trade name Hydroguard I 15, is a hydroxylamine derivative with the molecular formula C3H9NO. It carries no assigned E-code and is classified within the amine chemical family.

In plastics, rubber, and printing applications, IPHA functions as a stabilizer by scavenging free radicals and interrupting oxidative chain reactions that degrade polymer matrices. It is also used as a polymerization initiator, where its nitrogen-oxygen bond generates reactive species that trigger controlled chain-growth reactions in specific monomer systems.
