Tris(2-aminoethyl)amine, commonly abbreviated as TAEA or TREN (CAS 4097-89-6, EC 223-857-4), is a tetrafunctional aliphatic amine carrying three primary amine groups arranged symmetrically around a central nitrogen. It carries no assigned E-code and is classified under HS code 29211990.
In epoxy curing, TAEA acts as a crosslinker by reacting with epoxide groups through all three terminal amines, producing tightly networked polymer structures with elevated thermal and chemical resistance.
