Description

N,N-Dibutyl-1,3-propanediamine (CAS 102-83-0) is a difunctional aliphatic amine supplied as a clear liquid, commonly identified by the abbreviations DBAPA and the synonym 3-(dibutylamino)propylamine. It carries no assigned E-code and is registered under EC number 203-059-2.

In epoxy coatings and adhesive systems, DBAPA functions as a curing agent and cross-linking promoter, with its primary amine reacting with epoxide groups while the tertiary amine accelerates cure kinetics. In lubricant and metalworking formulations, it acts as a corrosion inhibitor by adsorbing onto metal surfaces through its amine nitrogen atoms, forming a protective barrier.

DBAPA is supplied in standard industrial grades and is subject to REACH registration requirements for EU import and use. Packaging is available in drums and intermediate bulk containers. Buyers should request a current Safety Data Sheet and confirm compliance documentation prior to procurement.
