Description

N,N-Dicyclohexyl-2-benzothiazolylsulfenamide (CAS 4979-32-2) is a sulfenamide-class rubber accelerator commonly identified by the abbreviations DCBS or DZ, and sold under trade names including Soxinol DZ and M 181. It carries EC number 225-625-8 and has no assigned E-code.

In sulfur vulcanization of natural and synthetic rubber, DCBS functions as a delayed-action accelerator, releasing active sulfurating species at elevated cure temperatures to extend scorch safety during processing. This controlled onset makes it particularly suited to thick-section tire components and technical rubber goods where premature crosslinking must be avoided during mold filling.

DCBS is supplied as a solid and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the European Economic Area. Procurement teams should confirm supplier SDS documentation and substance registration status prior to import or formulation use. Standard industrial packaging formats vary by supplier; consult your account contact for available lot sizes and certificates of analysis.
