Description

N,N-Dimethylglucamine (CAS 76326-99-3), also known commercially as Genamin Gluco 50 and abbreviated DMGA, is a tertiary amine derived from glucose. It carries no assigned E-code. Its amino and hydroxyl groups give it both metal-binding capacity and pH-buffering activity in aqueous systems.

In pharmaceutical formulations, DMGA acts as a solubilising counterion for poorly water-soluble acidic APIs, forming stable meglumine-type salts that improve bioavailability. In water treatment, it sequesters calcium and magnesium ions, suppressing scale formation in process circuits. Personal care formulators use it to buffer and stabilise emulsions within target pH ranges.

DMGA is supplied as a solid and is subject to REACH registration requirements for import and manufacture within the EU. Procurement teams should confirm grade specifications against intended application, particularly where pharmaceutical or cosmetic compliance documentation is required. Standard industrial packaging formats apply; consult our team for volume availability.
