Description

Neopentyl glycol bis(2-ethylhexanoate) (CAS 28510-23-8) is a synthetic diester built from neopentyl glycol and 2-ethylhexanoic acid. It is commercially available under trade names including KAK-NDO, Cosmol 525, and Schercemol NGDO, and carries no assigned E-code.

In personal care formulations, it functions as an emollient carrier and solubiliser, reducing interfacial tension between oil and water phases to support stable emulsions. In lubricant and metalworking applications, its diester structure provides a low-friction boundary layer on metal surfaces, improving load-bearing performance and reducing wear under mechanical stress.

The material is supplied in liquid form and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the European Economic Area. It is available in standard industrial packaging including drums and IBCs. Procurement teams should confirm supplier documentation for REACH compliance, safety data sheets, and any cosmetic-grade certification relevant to their application.
