Neotame

Neotame (CAS 165450-17-9, E961) is a high-intensity sweetener derived from aspartame, approved for use in food and beverage applications across the EU. It is commercially available under the trade name Mirasee and is also referenced as L,L-Neotame and Mirasee 200.

In food and nutrition formulations, Neotame functions as a flavoring agent and sweetness enhancer, delivering intensity approximately 7,000–13,000 times that of sucrose at very low inclusion rates, which allows formulators to reduce sugar content without compromising taste profile. In personal care applications, it serves as a skin conditioner and antioxidant stabilizer in topical preparations.
