PEG oleate

PEG oleate (CAS 9004-96-0) is a polyethylene glycol ester of oleic acid, produced by reacting ethylene oxide with oleic acid to yield a nonionic surfactant. In textile and metalworking lubricant formulations, PEG oleate reduces interfacial friction by forming an oriented monolayer at metal or fibre surfaces, lowering drag during drawing and spinning operations. In cosmetic emulsions, it stabilises oil-in-water systems by reducing interfacial tension between the aqueous and lipid phases, enabling uniform droplet distribution without high-shear processing.
