Description

Pentaerythritol tetrastearate (PETS, CAS 115-83-3) is a full ester of pentaerythritol and stearic acid, commercially available under trade names including Hexawax, Deoflow 821, Cyclochem PETS, and Nissan Unister H 476. It carries no E-code designation and is classified within the oils, fats, and waxes category.

In polymer processing, PETS functions as an internal and external lubricant, reducing friction between polymer chains and metal surfaces during extrusion and injection moulding, which lowers processing temperatures and improves mould release. In personal care formulations, it acts as an emollient and rheology modifier, adjusting the texture and flow behaviour of creams and sticks.

PETS is supplied in white bead form and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the EU (EC 204-110-1). It is classified under HS code 29157010 for customs purposes. Buyers should confirm grade specifications, including acid value and melting point, against their application requirements before ordering.
