Description

Polyoxyethylene tridecyl ether (CAS 24938-91-8, EC 607-463-3) is a nonionic ethoxylated alcohol surfactant derived from tridecyl alcohol and ethylene oxide. It is commercially known under trade names including Renex 30, Renex 31, and Renex 36, and is commonly abbreviated as C13E10 or POE(10). No E-code designation applies to this substance.

In textile processing, it functions as an emulsifier and scouring agent, reducing interfacial tension between fiber surfaces and oily contaminants to enable their removal. In personal care formulations, it acts as a solubiliser and emulsification aid, stabilising oil-in-water systems at low concentrations. It is also used in industrial cleaning compounds where its degreasing action targets hydrocarbon soils.

This material is supplied in technical grade and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the European Union. It is available in drum and IBC formats depending on supplier. Buyers should confirm ethylene oxide adduct distribution and HLB value when specifying grades for formulation use.
