Potassium hydrogen persulfate

Potassium hydrogen persulfate, also known as potassium monopersulfate or by the trade name Oxone, is an inorganic oxidising salt registered under CAS 10058-23-8 and EC 233-187-4. It is sometimes referred to as Caro's acid potassium salt or Kaliumperoxomonosulfat in German-language documentation. No E-code designation applies to this substance.

In water treatment, it oxidises and breaks down organic contaminants and disinfection byproduct precursors without generating chlorinated residues. In electronics manufacturing, it functions as a micro-etchant for copper surfaces by accepting electrons from the metal, enabling controlled surface activation prior to plating. Personal care formulators use it as an oxidative bleaching agent in hair colour products, where it initiates melanin degradation.

This product is supplied as a dry powder and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the European Economic Area.
