Description

Potassium sodium tartrate tetrahydrate, commercially known as Rochelle salt or Seignette salt, is a double salt of potassium and sodium derived from tartaric acid. With CAS number 6381-59-5 and EC number 613-385-0, it is registered under REACH and recognised in food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic applications.

In food processing, it functions as a pH buffer and sequestrant, stabilising emulsions and controlling acidity in dairy and confectionery systems. In personal care formulations, it acts as a skin conditioner and protectant by chelating metal ions that would otherwise destabilise the product matrix, extending shelf stability without synthetic antioxidants.

Potassium sodium tartrate tetrahydrate is available in food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade specifications, compliant with FCC and Ph.Eur. standards. It is supplied as white crystalline solid in 25 kg bags or bulk quantities. Full REACH registration documentation and safety data sheets are available on request.
