Description

Potassium Tripolyphosphate (KTPP, E451ii) is an inorganic potassium phosphate salt supplied under trade names such as Prayphos KTPP-FG. It functions as a chelating agent, emulsifier, and pH buffer across food, water treatment, and industrial processing applications.

In food manufacturing, KTPP binds divalent metal ions to prevent oxidative discolouration and stabilise protein matrices in processed meats and seafood. In water treatment, it sequesters calcium and magnesium ions to inhibit scale formation in distribution systems. Textile and leather processors use it to disperse mineral impurities and regulate bath pH during wet processing stages.

KTPP is available in food-grade form compliant with E451ii designation under EU food additive regulations and meets FCC specifications for food-contact applications. It is subject to REACH registration requirements for industrial supply within the European Economic Area. Standard packaging formats include 25 kg bags.
