Description

Riboflavin (CAS 83-88-5), also known as Vitamin B2, E101, and Beflavine, is a water-soluble B-vitamin occurring naturally in many foods and produced commercially via fermentation. It functions as a coenzyme in cellular energy metabolism and serves as a regulated yellow-orange colorant in food and pharmaceutical applications.

In food and beverage manufacturing, Riboflavin delivers a stable yellow hue without synthetic dyes, functioning as both a colorant and an antioxidant that helps protect formulations from oxidative degradation. In pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products, it supports B-vitamin supplementation at defined dosage levels, while in cosmetic formulations it acts as a skin conditioner and protectant.

Riboflavin is available in food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade forms compliant with E101 (EU food regulations), FCC, and Ph.Eur. monograph standards, and is registered under REACH. It is supplied as a yellow to orange crystalline powder in standard industrial packaging, with documentation available to support regulatory submissions across EU markets.
