Description

Sebacic acid (CAS 111-20-6, EC 203-845-5) is a straight-chain dicarboxylic acid derived primarily from castor oil, commercially known under names including Sebacinic Acid and Sebacic Acid TA. It carries no assigned E-code and is classified under HS code 29171310.

In polymer and lubricant formulations, sebacic acid reacts with diols or diamines to form polyesters and polyamides, where its ten-carbon chain length delivers low-temperature flexibility and plasticizing performance. In metalworking fluids and personal care emulsions, it stabilises oil-water interfaces by reducing interfacial tension and acts as a pH buffer to maintain system stability.

Sebacic acid is available in powder and granule grades, with supply conforming to REACH registration requirements for the European market. Food-contact and cosmetic applications are supported by FCC-compliant material where required. Standard packaging formats include 25 kg bags, with bulk options available on request.
