Description

Sodium aluminosilicate (CAS 1344-00-9, EC 215-684-8) is an inorganic salt composed of aluminium, sodium, and silicate units, commercially available under trade names including Zeolex, Sasil, P 820 A, and Zeolex 23p. It does not carry an E-number designation for food use in the EU.

In water treatment, it acts as a coagulant and flocculant by binding suspended particles and heavy metal ions through ion exchange and surface adsorption. In paper and pulp manufacturing, it functions as a rheology modifier, adjusting slurry viscosity and improving retention of fibres and fillers during sheet formation.

The material is supplied as a fine powder in multiple technical and industrial grades. It falls under REACH registration requirements for EU market supply. Packaging formats typically include multi-wall paper sacks and bulk quantities; buyers should confirm grade-specific compliance documentation with the supplier prior to ordering.
