Description

Sodium ferrocyanide decahydrate, also known as yellow prussiate of soda, is an inorganic iron-cyanide coordination salt registered under CAS 14434-22-1 and EC 680-419-9. Unlike free cyanide compounds, the ferrocyanide complex is chemically stable and of low toxicity under normal handling conditions.

In food-grade salt processing, sodium ferrocyanide functions as an anti-caking agent by binding to sodium chloride crystal surfaces and inhibiting moisture-driven agglomeration. In mining and hydrometallurgy, it acts as a selective precipitant for heavy metals such as copper and zinc, forming insoluble ferrocyanide complexes that are removed from process streams. Textile and leather operations use it as a sequestrant to control trace metal contamination in dye baths.

This material is supplied in powder form and is available in food-grade and technical-grade specifications. Compliance documentation can be provided against FCC and REACH requirements. Standard packaging formats include 25 kg bags, with bulk options available on request.
