Sodium fluorosilicate (CAS 16893-85-9, EC 240-934-8) is an inorganic fluorine salt commercially known as Na2SiF6, sodium fluosilicate, or sodium silicofluoride. It carries no assigned E-code and is distinct from simpler fluoride salts due to its hexafluorosilicate anion structure.

In water treatment, sodium fluorosilicate releases fluoride ions under controlled hydrolysis, enabling precise fluoridation of municipal supplies. In building and construction, it acts as a cross-linking agent in cement and concrete hardeners, reacting with free calcium compounds to densify surface structure. It also functions as a biocide and preservative in textile and leather processing.
