Description

Sodium Formaldehyde Sulfoxylate Dihydrate (CAS 6035-47-8) is a sodium salt of formaldehyde and sulfurous acid, commercially known under the trade names Rongalit, Rongalite, and Rongalit C. It carries no assigned E-code and is registered under EC number 611-965-8. It is supplied as a white crystalline powder.

In textile processing, it functions as a reducing bleach, breaking chromophoric bonds in dyes and pigments to discharge colour from fabric without fibre degradation. In leather and pulp and paper production, it reduces oxidised compounds and removes residual colour from substrates by donating electrons under mildly alkaline conditions.

This product is available in technical grade and is subject to REACH registration requirements within the European Union. It is classified under HS code 28311000 for customs purposes. Packaging formats vary by supplier; procurement teams should confirm available pack sizes and SDS documentation prior to ordering.
