Description

Sodium hypophosphite monohydrate (CAS 10039-56-2, EC 600-090-7) is an inorganic sodium salt of hypophosphorous acid, commercially available under the names sodium hypophosphite and sodium hypophosphite hydrate. It carries no assigned E-code and is categorised within salts and minerals. The molecular formula is H3O2P·H2O·Na.

In electroless nickel plating, it acts as a reducing agent, donating electrons to deposit nickel onto non-conductive substrates without an external current. In water treatment, it functions as a chelating agent, binding metal ions to prevent scale formation and inhibit microbial growth. Pharmaceutical and textile manufacturers also employ it as a buffering agent to stabilise process pH.

This product is supplied as white crystalline solid and is available in technical and pharmaceutical-grade specifications, with compliance traceable to REACH registration. Packaging is offered in standard industrial formats. Buyers should confirm grade suitability against Ph.Eur. or FCC requirements for regulated applications.
