Description
Sodium persulfate (CAS 7775-27-1), also known as sodium persulphate, disodium persulfate, and sodium peroxydisulfate, is an inorganic oxidising salt supplied as a white crystalline powder. It carries no E-code designation and is not classified as a food additive. It is registered under REACH and assigned HS code 28334000.
In polymer manufacturing, sodium persulfate acts as a free-radical initiator for emulsion and suspension polymerisation of acrylics, styrene, and vinyl acetate, decomposing thermally or under alkaline conditions to generate sulfate radicals. In water treatment and electronics, it oxidises organic contaminants and functions as a microetchant for printed circuit board copper surfaces, providing controlled, uniform material removal.
Sodium persulfate is available in technical and high-purity grades, with the latter meeting specifications relevant to electronics and specialty chemical applications. It is supplied in compliance with REACH regulations and is typically packaged in 25 kg bags or fibre drums. Bulk quantities and alternative packaging formats are available on request.
