Description
Sodium salicylate (CAS 54-21-7) is the sodium salt of salicylic acid, commercially known under names including Clin, Aroall, Magsalyl, Enterosalil, and Natrii Salicylas. It carries no assigned E-code and is registered under EC 200-198-0 with HS code 29182100.
In cosmetic formulations, sodium salicylate functions as a preservative by disrupting microbial cell membranes, and as a UV absorber by capturing UVB radiation in the 280-320 nm range, reducing photodegradation of active ingredients. In pharmaceutical preparations, it serves as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory active, and acts as an antioxidant stabilizer to extend shelf life of sensitive compounds.
Sodium salicylate is available in pharmaceutical grade meeting Ph.Eur. specifications and in reagent-grade crystalline powder form. It is fully REACH-registered for supply within the EU. Standard packaging includes fiber drums and multi-layer bags; documentation including CoA, SDS, and REACH compliance letters is available upon request.
