Description

Sodium tungstate (CAS 13472-45-2, EC 236-743-4), also known as disodium tungstate, sodium wolframate, and Na2WO4, is an inorganic tungsten salt supplied as colorless water-soluble crystals. It carries no assigned E-code and is classified under Salts & Minerals.

In textile and leather processing, sodium tungstate acts as a flame retardant and weighting agent by depositing tungsten oxide within fiber structures under acidic conditions. In industrial water treatment and metal finishing, it functions as an anodic corrosion inhibitor, forming a protective oxide layer on metal surfaces. It also serves as an oxidation catalyst in pharmaceutical synthesis.

Sodium tungstate is available in technical and reagent grades, with supply subject to REACH registration requirements for EU importers. Standard packaging includes 25 kg bags or drums. Buyers should confirm grade specification and documentation requirements, including SDS and certificate of analysis, prior to procurement.
