Description

Sulfur (CAS 7704-34-9) is a naturally occurring non-metallic element commercially known under names such as Brimstone, Sublimed Sulfur, and Bensulfoid. It is mined from volcanic deposits and recovered as a byproduct of petroleum and natural gas refining, making it one of the most abundantly produced industrial minerals in Europe and globally.

In rubber and tire manufacturing, sulfur creates covalent cross-links between polymer chains during vulcanization, directly determining the mechanical strength and elasticity of the final product. In agriculture, it functions as a contact fungicide and soil acidifier, disrupting fungal enzyme activity and correcting alkaline pH to improve nutrient availability for crops.

Sulfur is available in multiple grades including technical, agricultural, and Ph.Eur.-compliant pharmaceutical grades, supplied as powder, granules, or in the molten state for bulk industrial delivery. It falls under REACH regulation and is subject to standard EU chemical handling requirements. Packaging ranges from 25 kg bags to bulk tanker shipments.
