Description

Tert-Butylphenyl diphenyl phosphate, commonly abbreviated as BPDP and also known by the trade designation Flame Retardant BPDP, is an organophosphate ester with CAS number 56803-37-3 and EC number 260-391-0. It belongs to the arylphosphate family of flame retardants and carries no assigned E-code.

BPDP is used primarily in engineering thermoplastics and electronic components, where it functions by releasing phosphoric acid derivatives during combustion, interrupting the flame propagation cycle in the condensed phase. In automotive and aerospace polymer systems, it also acts as a plasticizer, reducing melt viscosity and improving processing without requiring a separate additive.

BPDP is supplied in compliance with REACH regulations and is available as a low-melting solid in standard industrial packaging. Procurement teams should confirm lot-specific purity documentation and SDS availability prior to order. Suppliers typically offer this material in drum quantities suited to compounding and formulation-scale operations.
