Description

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (CAS 183476-82-6) is a lipophilic ester of vitamin C, commercially known under trade names including BV-OSC, Nikkol VC-IP, and Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate. Unlike water-soluble ascorbic acid, it carries no E-code designation and is formulated as a neat liquid with strong oil-phase compatibility.

In cosmetic formulations, it functions as a fat-soluble antioxidant that penetrates the lipid barrier to inhibit oxidative degradation of skin cells and suppress melanin synthesis, making it applicable in brightening serums and anti-ageing emulsions. It also stabilises other active ingredients within oil-rich matrices by scavenging free radicals before they initiate chain oxidation.

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is supplied in cosmetic and pharmaceutical grades and falls under REACH registration requirements for the European market. Procurement quantities typically range from kilogram samples to drum volumes. Buyers should confirm grade specification and purity certificates with the supplier prior to order.
