Description

δ-Tocopherol (CAS 119-13-1) is a naturally occurring member of the vitamin E family, also known by its E-code E 309 and common designations 8-Methyltocol and E-Mix D. It is the delta isomer of tocopherol, distinguished by its specific chromanol ring methylation pattern, and is commercially sourced from vegetable oil distillates.

In food and feed applications, δ-Tocopherol functions as a lipid-phase antioxidant, interrupting free radical chain reactions to delay oxidative rancidity in oils, fats, and fatty acid-rich formulations. In personal care and pharmaceutical products, it stabilises active ingredients and lipid-based delivery systems against peroxidation-driven degradation.

δ-Tocopherol is supplied as a food-grade material compliant with E 309 specifications under EU Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 and is subject to REACH registration. It is available in standard drum and IBC packaging suited to industrial procurement volumes.
