In PVC and polymer compounding, TOTM functions as a high-temperature plasticizer, reducing polymer chain rigidity while maintaining low volatility at elevated service temperatures, making it suitable for wire and cable insulation. In personal care formulations it acts as an emollient and fragrance fixative, slowing the evaporation rate of volatile scent components. It also serves as a UV stabilizer in printing inks and coatings.
