Description

Triacetoxyvinylsilane (CAS 4130-08-9) is an organosilane coupling agent commercially available under trade names including Dow Corning Z-6075, SH 6075, LS 2040, and CV-4800. It carries no assigned E-code. The compound bridges organic polymer matrices and inorganic substrates through dual reactive functionality.

In silicone sealant and adhesive formulations, it acts as a cross-linking agent by releasing acetic acid upon moisture exposure, forming covalent Si-O bonds that anchor the polymer network to glass, metal, or mineral surfaces. In coatings and electronics encapsulants, it improves adhesion to substrates while simultaneously participating in the curing network, reducing delamination under thermal cycling.
