Description
Triglycidyl isocyanurate (TGIC), commercially known as Araldite PT-810, is a trifunctional epoxy compound built on an isocyanurate ring backbone. It carries no E-code designation and is identified under CAS 2451-62-9 and EC 219-514-3.
In powder coating formulations, TGIC reacts with carboxyl-functional polyester resins to form a dense, chemically resistant crosslinked network, improving outdoor durability and mechanical strength. It also serves as a reactive curing agent in electrical encapsulants and aerospace composite systems where controlled crosslink density is critical to thermal performance.
TGIC is supplied in powder and crystalline grades and is subject to REACH regulation within the EU, including classification as a substance of very high concern (SVHC) requiring authorisation under certain conditions. Procurement teams should confirm SDS compliance and supplier authorisation status prior to sourcing. Standard packaging formats include 25 kg bags and fibreboard drums.
