Description

Tripropylene glycol monobutyl ether (CAS 55934-93-5) is a slow-evaporating glycol ether solvent sold under trade names including Dowanol TPnB, Dalpad C, and abbreviated as TPNB, TPnB, or BFTG. It carries no E-code designation and belongs to the propylene glycol ether family, distinguishing it from ethylene glycol-based counterparts.

In architectural and industrial coatings, TPNB functions as a coalescing agent and flow modifier, slowing film formation to reduce brush marks and improve levelling at low temperatures. In hard-surface and industrial cleaning formulations, its high solvency for oils, greases, and resins allows effective degreasing at lower active-ingredient concentrations.

TPNB is supplied under REACH compliance and is available in standard industrial drum and IBC formats. No FCC or Ph.Eur. grade applies to this solvent. Buyers should confirm purity specification and SDS documentation directly with the supplier prior to procurement.
