Description
Tris(1-chloro-2-propyl) phosphate, commonly known as TCPP, is an organophosphate flame retardant available under trade names including Amgard TMCP, Hostaflam OP 820, and Daltoguard F. It carries CAS number 13674-84-5 and EC number 237-158-7, and is also referred to as tris(chloropropyl) phosphate in technical and procurement documentation.
TCPP functions primarily as a reactive flame retardant in rigid and flexible polyurethane foam, where it interrupts combustion in both the gas and condensed phases while also acting as a plasticiser within the polymer matrix. It is additionally used in coatings and sealants to meet fire resistance standards, and finds application in textile back-coatings where halogen-phosphorus synergy is required.
TCPP is supplied as a liquid and is registered under REACH. Procurement teams should note its inclusion on ECHA candidate list monitoring discussions and verify current regulatory status for end-use markets, particularly within the EU construction and automotive sectors. Standard packaging formats vary by supplier volume requirements.
