Description
Vinyl tris(MEKO)silane (CAS 2224-33-1, EC 218-747-8) is a moisture-cure silane crosslinker in which three methyl ethyl ketoxime (MEKO) leaving groups are attached to a silicon centre bearing a vinyl functional group. It carries no assigned E-code and is also referenced under the abbreviation VTMOSi-MEKO in formulation literature.
In neutral-cure silicone sealants, the compound releases MEKO upon exposure to atmospheric moisture, enabling room-temperature vulcanisation without generating corrosive acetic acid. In adhesive and coating systems for electronics and automotive substrates, the vinyl group participates in addition-cure networks, improving adhesion to glass, metal, and polymer surfaces through covalent Si-O-substrate bond formation.
The material is supplied as a REACH-registered substance and is handled under standard industrial chemical controls within the EU. It is available in drum and IBC formats suited to industrial procurement volumes. Buyers should confirm lot-specific purity and oxime content with the supplier prior to formulation.
