Description

Vitamin K1 (CAS 12001-79-5, EC 234-408-7) is a fat-soluble vitamin occurring naturally in plant tissues, also known under trade names including Kanavit and Synkavite. It is the principal dietary form of vitamin K and is distinct from the synthetic K2 and K3 variants in both structure and biological activity.

In pharmaceutical formulations, Vitamin K1 acts as a cofactor for clotting factor synthesis, making it the active ingredient in anticoagulant-reversal injectables and oral coagulation therapies. In animal feed applications, it supports bone metabolism and blood coagulation in livestock, and in food fortification it functions as an antioxidant stabilizer to extend shelf integrity of fat-containing matrices.

Vitamin K1 is supplied as a viscous liquid in pharmaceutical-grade specifications aligned with Ph.Eur. and USP 23 standards, including the designation Vitamin K1 USP23. It is subject to REACH registration requirements within the EU. Procurement quantities and packaging formats should be confirmed directly with the supplier.
