Description

Zinc bis(D-gluconate), CAS 4468-02-4, is the zinc salt of gluconic acid, supplying bioavailable divalent zinc in a water-soluble, organically complexed form. It is sold under trade names including Rubozinc, BioZn-AAS, Helshas Zn, Zinc Verla, and Givobio G Zn. No E-number is assigned.

In pharmaceutical and nutraceutical formulations, it delivers zinc as a dietary supplement or topical skin protectant, where the gluconate ligand improves gastrointestinal tolerance compared to inorganic zinc salts. In cosmetic preparations, it functions as a chelator that sequesters trace metal ions, reducing oxidative degradation of active ingredients and stabilising pH-sensitive systems.

Zinc gluconate is available in food-grade (FCC) and pharmaceutical-grade (Ph.Eur.) specifications. It is fully registered under REACH and compliant with EU cosmetic regulations. Typical packaging ranges from 25 kg fibre drums to bulk quantities, with documentation including CoA, SDS, and regulatory dossiers on request.
