Description

Zinc (CAS 7440-66-6) is a bluish-white metal supplied in powder, granule, and dust grades under trade designations including LS 2, LS 4, LS 5, F 2000, and Ecka 4. It is classified under Salts & Minerals and is commercially available in multiple purity levels suited to industrial processing requirements.

In galvanising and anti-corrosion coatings, zinc acts as a sacrificial anode, oxidising preferentially to protect underlying steel structures in construction and automotive applications. In agricultural micronutrient formulations, it corrects zinc deficiency in soils by releasing Zn²⁺ ions that support enzyme function in crops. It also serves as a catalyst precursor and stabiliser in rubber and lubricant manufacturing.

Zinc is supplied in grades compliant with REACH regulations and is available in forms meeting industry-specific purity standards for electronics, water treatment, and metalworking sectors. Packaging formats vary by grade and application volume; suppliers typically offer bulk, intermediate bulk container, and bagged formats. Buyers should confirm grade specification against their process requirements.
