Description

Zinc laurate (CAS 2452-01-9, EC 219-518-5) is a zinc salt of lauric acid, commercially known under designations such as Z 12, LZ-P, and Zinkdilaurat. It carries no assigned E-code and is supplied as a white powder with the molecular formula C12H24O2·1/2Zn.

In PVC and rubber compounding, zinc laurate functions as an internal lubricant and heat stabiliser, reducing friction between polymer chains during processing while retarding thermal degradation. In personal care formulations, it acts as a surface modifier, improving the slip and adhesion of pressed powders and pigment dispersions by coating particle surfaces.

Zinc laurate is available in standard powder grades and supplied in accordance with REACH registration requirements for the European market. Packaging typically follows industrial conventions of 25 kg bags or bulk quantities. Buyers should confirm grade specifications and documentation requirements directly with the supplier.
