Hydrotreated light naphthenic distillates

CAS
64742-53-6

Description

Hydrotreated light naphthenic distillates (CAS 64742-53-6), also marketed under trade designations such as NYNAS T 110, are refined petroleum fractions processed to reduce aromatic and sulfur content.

They function as base oils and process carriers across lubricant manufacturing, metalworking, and industrial fluid formulation. In lubricant blending, these distillates serve as base stocks for low-viscosity formulations.

They are utilized where good solvency toward additives and oxidation inhibitors is required. Metalworking fluid manufacturers use them as carrier oils in neat cutting oils and rust-preventive compounds.

Their naphthenic character supports additive dissolution and metal wetting. In the oil and gas sector, they are used in drilling fluid formulations and process oils where controlled viscosity is critical.

Low pour point performance is commercially critical for these applications. Rubber and polymer processors also incorporate them as process oils and plasticizers in elastomer compounding for various products.

Hydrotreated light naphthenic distillates are supplied as clear to pale yellow liquids in bulk tanker, IBC, and drum formats. Technical-grade is the standard commercial offering for industrial use.

Specifications are typically defined by viscosity grade, flash point, and sulfur content per supplier or industry standards. Procurement is generally aligned to specific viscosity grades for consistency.

Making grade confirmation against application requirements is an important sourcing step. This ensures the material meets the necessary performance criteria for the intended industrial manufacturing process.
