Description

Hydrotreated kerosene (CAS 64742-47-8) is a refined petroleum fraction produced by catalytic hydrotreatment to remove sulfur, nitrogen, and aromatic compounds. The process yields a cleaner, low-odor hydrocarbon stream used across industrial solvent, cleaning, and carrier applications.

This material offers tighter compositional control than standard kerosene grades. In metalworking and industrial maintenance, it functions as a degreasing solvent and parts-cleaning fluid, effectively removing oils, greases, and machining residues.

It is preferred for its lack of the aggressive odor profile found in untreated distillates. Formulators of household and industrial cleaning products use it as a hydrocarbon carrier in spray degreasers and hard-surface cleaners.

It is also utilized in aerosol formulations where low aromatic content is a requirement. In the oil and gas sector, it serves as a diluent and process solvent in drilling and production operations for various field applications.

Its reduced sulfur content makes it a preferred base fluid for specialty lubricant blending where contamination thresholds are tightly controlled. This ensures high performance in sensitive industrial environments and machinery.

The product is supplied as a clear to pale yellow liquid in bulk tanker, IBC, and drum formats. Technical grade is the standard commercial specification, characterized by defined boiling range and flash point limits.

Dearomatized and low-sulfur variants are available to meet specific formulation or regulatory requirements. These options provide flexibility for manufacturers needing to adhere to strict environmental or safety standards.
