Description

Sodium C12-16 alkyl sulfate (CAS 73296-89-6) is an anionic surfactant derived from a blend of C12 to C16 fatty alcohols, covering the chain-length range of both sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium cetyl sulfate.

It delivers foaming, cleaning, and emulsification performance across a broad range of formulated products. In personal care, it functions as the primary surfactant in shampoos, body washes, and liquid hand soaps.

The material is effective at generating dense foam while removing oils and soils from skin and hair. Home care formulators use it in hard surface cleaners, dishwashing liquids, and laundry detergents where consistent lather is required.

Textile processing operations apply it as a scouring and wetting agent to strip natural oils and sizing agents from fiber before dyeing. In paper manufacturing, it supports pulp dispersion and surface treatment processes.

Sodium C12-16 alkyl sulfate is supplied as a liquid paste or aqueous solution, typically at active matter concentrations in the 28–30% range. Technical and cosmetic grades are available for various industrial needs.

Cosmetic-grade material meets purity standards relevant to personal care manufacturing. Bulk supply is standard for industrial and home care volumes, with intermediate packaging available for smaller formulation operations.
